Tuesday 27th
– 29th May
This week we
read about ‘Four dream holidays’
·
Would you like to visit
Antarctica on this once-in-a-lifetime holiday in the snow and ice? Or would you prefer to
leave it to scientists or explorers?
·
Would you prefer to go on a
safari? Would you like to travel by helicopter, sleep in a luxury bed under the
stars and travel in a hot-air balloon?
·
Would you like to go on a
flight into space and orbit the earth in a spaceship?
·
Or would you prefer to live like
Robinson Crusoe on a desert island forgetting the stress of the city life?
We use “would
like to” or “would prefer to” when we hypothesize or imagine.
We played ‘Change
your Holiday’
Luis and
Laura are going
to go to Belize. They’re going to stay there for a week. They’re going to
fly. They’re going to sunbathe, relax in the pool, go to the beach
and eat the typical food from the country.
BUT… they aren’t going
to go to Belize! They’re going to go to Edinburgh!
They’re going to go by car. They’re going to
take their car on the Channel Tunnel train. They’re going to visit the Highlands
and they’re
going to try to see the Loch Ness Monster! They’re going to drink Scotch
and to visit distilleries.
I am going to Belize.
So, where are
Juan and Eugene going to go…?
They’re
going to go to Rwanda! They’re
going to stay for a month, in August. They’re going to get there by plane,
by car and they
are going to walk the last 15 Km. because the village is isolated. They’re going to
help to build a new school and a water supply channel. They’re going to
live in traditional huts.
Enjoy your
holidays!!
We finished talking
about holidays with music: ‘La Isla Bonita’ by Madonna. Would you
like to listen to it again? Use this link
Then, we
started the new topic: Food.
We started
reading about traditional British food.
We read about The English Breakfast, Pancakes,
Roast beef and Yorkshire Pudding. And also about Haggis and Tea. We’ll continue
next week.
Remember,
have lunch before coming to class because we’re going to talk about food!
See you on
Tuesday!!
